Our Coop
We love to show off our store, located at 268 Front Street, in downtown historic Marietta, Ohio.
It is said that home is where the heart is and our home is here at The Hen. Our history has found us in a few different locations, but no matter the "where", we were always home. We opened our store just off the beaten path of downtown Marietta. Soon, we outgrew our initial location and moved into a wonderful historic building on Front Street in Marietta in 2001. This was the location where we really established our presence as a rughooking center for our community. We hosted weekly classes and became quite the gathering spot! Unfortunately, in an effort to cover up a burglary, we lost our beloved building to an arson in November 2003.
Desperate to keep our doors open, our nest had a temporary home for a spell before we moved into our current coop.
268 Front is situated along "the" shopping street in Marietta and is a great place to feather your nest! Inside our doors, you will find not only rughooking supplies, but also primitive furniture pieces big and small. Our furniture and houseware items change weekly, so it's best to stop in often. Our store vignettes feature local crafters and artisans whom we feel compliment the design style of our clientelle. You will also find one of a kind creations by our own Tonya Robey.
